A standard for PCI Express SSDs
Solid State drives are revolutionising the computer industry. Many vendors are introducing high-end PCI Express based SSDs. Unfortunately, producing BSD drivers for those SSDs or programming documentation is low on the TODO list.
The NVMHCI Workgroup has produced a new standard called NVM Express. Join the author of the Linux driver as he describes the interface and discusses the motivation behind some of the decisions and tradeoffs that we made.
