Matthew Ahrens

Matt Ahrens is a software engineer at Delphix, where he works on ZFS for Delphix's database virtualization appliance. He co-founded the ZFS project at Sun Microsystems in 2001.
Matt designed and implemented major components of ZFS, including snapshots and remote replication, and helped lead the ZFS team for 9 years. He continues to improve ZFS, most recently working on i/o performance, as well as (attempting to!) coordinate open-source ZFS development across companies and platforms. His other interests include DTrace and working on his house in San Francisco. Matt has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Brown University.
