Ike Eichorn

Ike is specialist in being a generalist in technology. And by technology he does not mean 'computer technology'. From rockets, to electronics, machining, and woodworking if it is something that can be tinkered with. It will be ... It will be.

After receiving a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Ike was confronted with one of the worst job markets. After doing most of the work for a Masters, he ended up deciding to learn enough to get a job as a sysadmin. Only then to find work available in his original field (mostly).

Ike presently works as a contractor at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland. His days are spent working with old Fortran code on OpenVMS of all things. That and writing all of the documentation that nobody has gotten around to for decades.

Ike has been a user of open source operating systems starting with Linux 2.6 and a BSD user since FreeBSD 10.0 thanks to the evangelism of Allan Jude. This is his first BSDCan.
