Jason Testart

Jason is currently Director, Information Security Services at the University of Waterloo where he oversees identity & access management, cyber security operations, awareness, and compliance.

Jason began his career 20 years ago as a Unix Administrator and systems programmer. Jason was attracted to OpenBSD with introduction of pf in the 3.0 release. Since then, he has used it to provide firewall, DNS, and DHCP services to his home network, including enforcing online curfew for his children via cron.

In his spare time, Jason likes to volunteer in the community when not chauffeuring his kids around Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario.
