Josh Paetzel
A sysadmin and programmer, an enthusiast about BSD UNIX who spends time administering FreeBSD servers, evangelizing FreeBSD, and working on and with FreeBSD and PC-BSD.
Continuing a journey that started in 1996 with a FreeBSD 2.1.5 install CD from Walnut Creek and a 486, along with a mission to replace some BSD/OS servers with FreeBSD. Today there's a ports commit bit, mentorship for a src commit bit, membership on the release engineering team of FreeBSD, in the inner circle of PC-BSD development, guiding the rewrite of FreeNAS to FreeBSD 8.x and nanobsd, as well as plotting to replace the venerable installer in FreeBSD, working with the infrastructure that FreeBSD.og runs on.
Currently the day job is at iXsystems, which is a hardware vendor focused on providing FreeBSD platforms, and affords the chance to work directly on and with FreeBSD. Sometimes an author, sometimes a speaker, always learning, always teaching and guiding when the opportunity presents itself
