Registration

Registration includes all talks, lunch, and snacks on Friday and Saturday. There are optional add-ons, such as the preceding two days of tutorials and the closing reception (which is free if you register before May 20).

How will registration work?

Registration is a 5 step process:

  1. Enter your personal details (name, address, email, etc).
  2. Select your conference registration type (Student, Corporate, etc).
  3. Optionally select any tutorials, etc
  4. Submit your payment via Paypal.
  5. Once confirmed, you will receive a BSDCan registration confirmation email.

You will get two emails from BSDCan. The first email indicates that your registration information has been received (it should arrive almost immediately after you complete step 3). The second will arrive after we have received notification of your payment, which will take a few days.

Any refunds will not be issued until after the conference.

Payment methods

We are using PayPal as our payment method. If you already have a Paypal account, you may use that. If you do not have a Paypal account, you can use your credit card via Paypal. Our Paypal address is paypal@bsdcan.org.

Harassment

BSDCan has a harassment policy. All conference attendees are expected to comply with this policy. Mind you, it’s pretty much common sense, courtesy, and plain old good behaviour. Such conduct is expected within our community.

  1. If your employer is paying for you to attend the conference, please register as Corporate. If you are paying for the conference out of your own pocket, please register as Individual. If your employer puts limits on expenses over $500, please contact us for a $13 coupon. 

  2. Each additional person from the same corporation. 

  3. You must provide valid student ID when picking up your registration pack. 

  4. You must provide valid ID from University of Ottawa when picking up your registration pack. 

  5. We are planning a closing reception on Saturday. This includes food and and (if all goes to plan) one or two drinks. (Venues typically limit what kinds of drinks are included, but you can still pay for different drinks if they’re available.) Vegans, Vegetarians, and Carnivores will all be catered for. 

  6. Early registrations (before May 20) get free admission to the reception. If you register on May 20 or later, the reception will cost $64.
